I Am the New Year

I Am the New Year. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time. I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months. All that you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination. All the good that you tried for and didn’t achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires. All that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have—these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose. I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, “Behold, I make all things new.” I have the opportunity Once more to right some wrongs,

“Here we are in a month named after the Roman god Janus, an appropriate personification of the start of the new year. This particular Roman god had two faces so that he could look ahead toward the future and back at the past at the same time. As we get rid of an old year and look forward to a new one, we all try to be a little like Janus. We know through experience what we did wrong and what we did right, and hope to do better this year. Some people make ambitious new year’s resolutions; others just take a deep breath and hope for the best.…”

We run wild!!!

Well.. what do you know… Monday crept up on us again. I woke up still feeling so sore after Friday and it’s time to go back to work.

So we started running… then walking … the crawling.. Whatever it takes to get to the finish line! Ha! All is well though, Mother Nature love me that afternoon, the day started very hot but just shortly before the marathon start, the cloud moving in and there’s the breeze, so it was actually a beautiful afternoon. LOVE IT!!!

We have an amazing turn out and some of my friends were there to join me and support me. It is also followed by my company’s family picnic and a self private tour to Denver Zoo. What a great way to spend your weekend. On top of that, over 1000 runners (or crawlers like me) join the marathon and all of the buckets are filled with underwear donations. We

Thank you for the amazing support, could’ve done it without you all!! Here’s the report from Underwearness : We were successful in collecting more than 1,000 pairs of underwear and raising more than $15,000. The results of this event will allow UNDERWEARNESS, Inc. to give more than 10,000 pairs of new underwear to kids in need; not only in the Denver community but across the nation.

By the way guys.. look at the result, you’ll see my name on it! 🙂

I was a football virgin…

I’m not into sports at all! I play tennis and golf as I was growing up. My dad – the business man – teaches me that those two sports are a must know in business because they are good for lobbying. You don’t have to like it but you have to know how to play. He is right. All of people here are playing golf for business meeting and etc….

Back to football. My husband is a football addict. He’s basically into all sports just like any men out there, but mostly Football and basketball. Me on the other hand, very clueless about football. To proof how clueless I was, one time my boss gave me a really good football ticket for me and my husband to watch. He quizzes me before handed me the ticket. After asking me several questions about football, this is his conclusions: “Sendie, at the football game, don’t tell anybody you work for me!” 🙂

I always feel bad for him during Monday Night football, he’ll be downstairs watching it by himself and I’m upstairs watching my food network. I’m just not interested. Well, first of all, football in my country is literally a round black and white ball that they kick with their feet, not carrying around in their armpit. 🙂  here it called soccer – yeah okay…  and also from distance looks pretty violent to me.

Well baby.. last Super-bowl just change it all. It’s started with me chasing a cheesehead for my husband, then I didn’t realize this but I kinda share his excitement over his team making it to the Super-bowl. I was  actually excited over the game not just for the food! 🙂 I actually watch the whole game! Seriosly, not just the commercial and half time! I cheers them on and curse yells! It was fun. Now I can understand the excitements, it really get your adreline pumping.

I’m still pretty much clueless about a lot of stuff, but not as bad as I was. Hey, now I know what fumble mean! (assuming I spell it correctly)

I heart football!

Chasing Cheesehead

My husband from WI. Now, normally he’s not much into pro football, he’s more into college football – go Badgers! – However, this year ever since the Packers showing signs they are not stopping until Super Bowl he got so excited over his state team.

Right before the packers went against the Bears, I started looking into getting him a cheesehead. Of course, we live the Broncos state so it’s not like you can find it in any sports store. My options is calling family in WI or order online. I waited until I know for sure Packers will go to the Super Bowl and I’ll order it online.

They did!! So I started looking at Craiglist, ebay and some online store for this cheesehead. I finally order one with 3-5 days shipping guarantee, this is about a week and half before the superbowl.

Then Midwest big storm coming though…. Thursday night, I got email from UPS saying due to weather condition my order will not get shipped until the 3rd of February and won’t get to Denver until the 8th. That’s 2 days after the SuperBowl!!

I started frantically calling a bunch of places looking for it, even consider driving to Colorado Springs to answer Craiglist ad – but we had a snow storm of our own, so driving to Denver is out of the question. ***sigh***

Then I call my sisters in law ask if they have any cheesehead store and if she can ship it overnight to us here. After she got done laughing she said YES. Darn it Sendie, you should’ve thought it sooner! My mother in law was so touch by the store of a crazy daughter in law trying so hard to pleased her son, she actually bought it for us. My sister in law kindly shipped it to us overnight, guaranteed arrive at our home by noon Saturday the 5th.

And comes Saturday…  coming home after Tyra piano class at 11.30am..IT”S THERE!!!!! WHOOHOO!!!  I can honestly say I live up to the vow I said at my wedding day! You guys should see the look on his face when he open the gift wrapped (oh yeah, I re-wrapped it into a valentine’s gift bag).  Priceless!

Today – Monday February 7, 2011, I can say that the chasing paid off. The Packers went to superbowl with full speed and didn’t stop until they win it! Over all it was a good game, both team put good effort into it and the best part, I won $5! And my husband got his cheesehead.

Victory is sweet.

Victory Smile

And on top of that, even after the game is over, I also found another use for this cheesehead – not, it’s not for dishwashing! My Kalia seems to get a kick out of this hat! No matter what she did before, she will giggle and laugh at anyone who wears it!

Kalia & Tyra

Let it snow.. let it snow…

With the forecast calling for up to 5 inches of snow today and a blistering high of – 2 degrees tomorrow with more snow, some of you (me) wondered whether I’ll be at work tomorrow.  🙂

We have a snow storm few weeks ago and I remember my daughter school recording calling around 5 am to inform us on the school closure. Although the phone call woke me up – I secretly hope that was my work that call instead about office closure. No such luck.

It’s hard to believe that it’s snowing like crazy out there right now. I was still having a BBQ with friends yesterday. It is typical of Colorado weather though. We have 60 degree Friday, 65 on Saturday and drop slowly yesterday and it is single digit now and will falls below zero by tonight and tomorrow. I love it! Never dull around here.

Went to grocery store yesterday for last minute BBQ need and it is jam packed with people preparing for snowy day. I saw one guy putting 4 gallon of milk in the cart and talking to his wife about be prepare for snow. That’s the first. I thought cold day = soup day not cereal, but what do I know I ate my hot dog with rice! But yeah.. people act crazy funny during these time. One of my favorite blogger  simply Diane write about this not long ago.

I did do a quick check up myself though.. diapers, check! Formula, check! Most importantly, rice? Check!!

Right now, I’m dreaming of snuggling at home with my two baby instead of ‘working’ here – not really working cause I’m updating my blog.  🙂  On top of that, I’m also dreaming wishing the phone will ring tomorrow morning and it’s office closure!! Yeah!

In the mean time. Bundle up and “look forward” to drive home in this snow. Let’s pray I won’t meet one of those SUV driver who thinks just because they have SUV it means they can still speed up! Oy… the nerve of some people.

Happy Snowy Monday!!

The latest Romance novel…

He grasped me firmly but gently just above my elbow and guided me into a room, his room. Then he quietly shut the door and we were alone.

He approached me soundlessly, from behind, and spoke in a low, reassuring voice close to my ear. “Just relax.”
Without warning, he reached down and I felt his hands start at my ankles, gently probing, and moving upward along my calves slowly but steadily. My breath caught in my throat. I knew I should be afraid, but somehow I didn’t care. His touch was so experienced, so sure. When his hands moved up onto my thighs, I gave a slight shudder and partly closed my eyes. My pulse was pounding. I felt his knowing fingers caress my abdomen, my ribcage, and then as he reached my breasts, I inhaled sharply. Probing, searching, knowing what he wanted, he brought his hands to my shoulders, slid them down my tingling spine, across my hips, and although I knew nothing about this man, I felt oddly trusting and expectant. This is a man, I thought. A man used to taking charge. A man not used to taking `no’ for an answer. A man who would tell me what he wanted. A man who would look into my soul and
say ……………….
“Okay, ma’am, all done.”
My eyes snapped open and he was standing in front of me, smiling, holding out my purse.
“You can board your flight now.”

This is the email I receive from one of my friend this morning, at first I gasp – my thought was ” gosh.. why did she send me this to my work email?” then after reading it, I can’t stop laughing! 🙂

Happy Friday!

When a $4 bottle of wine is not ” a pretty good shit” anymore… (via My story)

From my other blog.. 🙂

When a $4 bottle of wine is not ” a pretty good shit” anymore… That is the joke email my friend BP sent me as a friendly reminder how our life has change since collage. Then few days ago Slightly off balance – One of my favorite blog of all time – wrote about how she’s not in college anymore.  I was laughing so hard reading her post because it reminded me of a similar situation I had. I’m 33 yrs old – but the candle stops at 21! – mother of two, still relatively young, but the two little minion I have althou … Read More

People search what on google????

I was talking to my husband last night about  this blog stat and how I’ve been getting a pretty good hits on it. One day my stats shows over 200 hits – it’s probably nothing for some other blogger out there, but it’s a pretty high hits for me – normally my blog receive around 15 – 20 hits on daily basis, so hitting those 3 digits can be surprising. My first initial thought was did I by accident posted my honeymoon video? Then my husband told me maybe it’s from the search engine.. hmm.. he can be smart sometime 🙂

I never realize that on the dashboard of the blog under stat will listed your top search from search engine. I just discover that little information last night and it really give me a good laugh….  Most of the question is fairly normal, but there are some that makes you shake your head!

Here’s some of the search question that lead some people to my blog:

“can out muscle my husband” – seriously.. “what???”

“Cheesehead fetish.: – eeeewww

“eating husband muscle”  hmm…

“Sexy Indonesian girl.” = oh yeah.. that’s me!

“Indonesian married Hmong.” – I swear I thought I was the only Indonesian girl that marry Hmong guy!

Oh gosh… I can’t imagine working for Google and see what other weird interesting subject people are searching there.

2011 already????

Beside a fabulous new year’s party, I didn’t start up this year in a good way. As soon as I got home from the party, I got really sick. I think it’s a God reminder that I’m not young anymore and shouldn’t pulled an all nighter till 6 am two weekend in a row! I’m still am sick right now, hopefully I’m well enough to go back to work tomorrow. I check my work email few hrs ago and I have 78 emails! I just can’t imagine the workload that waiting for  me.

Also, my cheap phone die on me! My husband bought me Iphone 6 months ago and I refuse to use it because I don’t want to pay another heafty phone internet charges, he already use an Iphone and I really wasn’t on my phone that much. Only text and facebook, so I opted to use this cheap samsung galaxy phone. Well, I wasn’t happy with it from the first time I got it, but it’s my pride that keep me from telling it to my husband…. enough that my friends were always make fun of my “teenage cell phone”  – yes, I have the same phone with most of my friend’s child! – few days ago, it die on me. The touch screen has been acting up and I knew it just matter of time before it die… and it did.

So there goes my Janury 1st, 2011~ on the good note, my best friend come and visit me from Florida and she spends the night at my place. I was upset because me being sick I can’t really do things I’m planning on doing! I was lying there in the couch sick, but we did have a quality time talking and catching up and plan on our big cruise to Europe in few years. I’m still kinda sad, I was hoping for a girl night out.. oh well…. maybe next time when I visit her in Florida and we can all have fun being a child again in Disney World!

In sum up…. great new year party! I got sick for roughing it at the party, my phone die.. waiting for a new one! Quality time with my friend. I guess it wasn’t so bad afterall…..

Below is little collage I created to capture some of the greatest memory of 2010. From my baby birth, my graduation, birthdays, and quality time with friends and family. I’m so looking forward to create more memory in 2011.

Welcome 2011!
